The Visitor

When guitarist and Native American flutist Annette Abbondanza sent me this song she wrote and performed, we both knew there was a moving story behind those sweetly creative and alluring notes. Because I explore Florida's wild wetlands on a regular basis as a hunter of photographic images, the story came to me almost right away. I wanted to show that not all who pursue unfenced creatures and untouched landscapes carry a gun. And not all are men. My darling wife Marisa played the "Visitor", and my dog Fossil, who wouldn't even chase a parked car, played the dog. Although the photos were shot in Big Cypress National Preserve, Okaloacoochee State Forest Slough and Hawthorne Creek (DeSoto county) on different days, the morning sequence of light and encounters was the same.
