Southern Charm

Dec. 14, 2008. The Caloosahatchee River near Alva leads west to the mouth of Hickey's Creek. A few years back, my brother Dave and I explored sections of the creek bottom with SCUBA gear and found the remains of ancient whales and mako sharks. It's still a beautiful creek, although it suffers from house sores and canalitis. A toast to what it was and how it continues to fight for its life.
