It never dawned on me why anyone would bother hauling this plant (Water hyacinth - Eichhornia crassipes)
thousands of miles from Brazil to New Orleans in 1884, until I shot this photo.
It was just before twighlight when back-lighting on plants is most dramatic.
I waded out into Harns Marsh in Lehigh Acres and sat down facing the sun.
It was then that it hit me. Wow! What gorgeous plants!
I too, was briefly smitten.
